What is TENS?
TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. The TENS unit provided will be specifically designed for women in labor. This battery operated device will provide mild electrical impulses that will transmit through skin to stimulate nerve fibers. TENS is a safe, non-pharmocological method of pain control in labor and is especially helpful for back labor. It is widely used for laboring women in other countries.
TENS Unit Rental
I have been trained by DoulaVersity to offer TENS units to birthing people and explain how to use the unit. You are welcome to rent my TENS unit from me for use during your labor. It has been found to be very effective and beneficial for pain management in early labor, so I can give the TENS unit to you prior to your due date and you can use it on yourself when labor begins.
